Abstract. Wahidah, Omar SBA, Trijuno DD, Nugroho E, Amrullah, Khatimah K. 2023. Genetic variation of giant freshwater prawns Macrobrachium rosenbergii wild population South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 24: 3081-3090. Quality prawn broodstock can be provided using sources from populations with good morphological and genetic performance. This study aimed to analyze the genotypes in hence it used as basic information for quality broodstock. Evaluation haplotypes, rosenbergii, 3 rivers Sulawesi: 26 samples Waelawi River (11 males, 15 females); 25 Kalibone (10 Kariango (12 14 females), so there are 6 groups. Analysis mt-DNA obtained an amplification 700 bp. The amplified restriction uses four enzymes (Hae III, Mbo I, Rsa Taq I). identified male female each had haplotypes: 2 haplotypes; 1 haplotype; haplotype. Female highest haplotype diversity (0.3651), followed by (0.1449) (0.1011). females have farthest distance females. Waelawi, one cluster form a new Kariango, then Kalibone, last is formed Kariango. potential broodstock, which mated or other populations.

Macrobrachium rosenbergii nodavirus infection in a giant freshwater prawn hatchery in Indonesia
A pathogen of giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, was recently recorded in a hatchery in Yogyakarta. The clinical symptom in post-larvae (PL) was a whitish appearance of the muscles in the tail. Histological examination revealed myonecrosis with massive infiltration of myonuclei and hemocytes. RT-PCR products of 850 bp were obtained when using RNA from diseased PL as a template. ...
متن کاملParvo-like virus in the hepatopancreas of freshwater prawns Macrobrachium rosenbergii cultivated in Thailand.
A survey of cultivated giant freshwater prawns Macrobrachium rosenbergii from Thailand revealed the presence of unusual spherical to ovoid inclusions in nuclei of hepatopancreas tubule epithelial cells. These began as small eosinophilic inclusions that became more basophilic as they increased in size. They were present in both R-cells and E-cells but were largest and deeply basophilic only in t...
متن کاملPathogenicity of Aeromonas hydrophila in giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii, cultured in East Malaysia
Aeromonas infections are becoming a major risk factor in commercial aquaculture and it has been reported that a wide variety of fish and shellfish species are susceptible to this infection. In this study, 3 isolates of Aeromonas hydrophila were isolated from giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) cultured in Kuala Pilah Simbilan Nigri in East Malaysia. Conventional and rapid identif...
متن کاملGenetic Inheritance of Female and Male Morphotypes in Giant Freshwater Prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii
Giant freshwater prawn (GFP) Macrobrachium rosenbergii is unique with males categorized in five different morphotypes (small claw, orange claw, blue claw, old blue claw and no claw males) and females in three reproductive statuses (mature ovary, berried and spawned females). In the present study we examined genetic inheritance of female and male morphotypes, their body weights and genetic assoc...
